2nd Annual Paw Pantry Supply Drive Is Friday

The 2nd Annual Care for Critters Paw Pantry Supply Drive, hosted by Coldwell Banker Southern Realty, will be held Friday, September 13.  There will be giveaways, food trucks, music, and more.  Supplies needed include dog and cat food, blankets, and other pet supplies.  The event will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Coldwell Banker Southern Realty, located at 102 Weakley Creek Road in Lawrenceburg.

Fall Book Sale Underway At Library

Friends of the Library is holding its Fall book sale through Saturday, September 14, with all proceeds to be used for library programs. Donated items, such as books, movies, magazines, DVDs, and puzzles are available.  Items donated for the bi-annual book sale are accepted throughout the year.

Perry County Teen Arrested Following Threats

A 16-year-old Perry County High School student was arrested Thursday night after sending threats to other students involving a handgun.  The girl sent the messages via Snap Chat.  School officials notified Sheriff Nick Weems and an investigation was quickly undertaken.  The teen was taken into custody and held at the Perry County Jail overnight to await transfer to a juvenile detention facility.

Wayne County Authorities Seek Info On Escapee

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department issued a BOLO Friday for Inmate Tommy Dixon, who fled from a work detail at Shields Cemetery. Schools were limiting access to buildings as a precautionary measure.  He was last seen wearing denim pants, an orange shirt, and brown boots – but he may be wearing a white T-shirt.  If seen, you are asked to call Wayne County Dispatch Center at 931-722-7911.
