The Lawrenceburg Saturday Free Lunch for April 18 will be hosted by Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church, 322 North Military Ave. in Lawrenceburg. The program is sponsored by God’s Storehouse and local churches.  Serving begins around 11 a.m. and runs until the site runs out of food.

A death investigation was initiated in Athens around 9:30 Friday morning after the Athens Police Department received a report of two deceased people inside a home in Watercress subdivision.  Department officials reported that the investigation was ongoing, but that the deaths posed no threat to the community.

A young Lawrenceburg man lost his life in a boating accident Friday on Normandy Lake in Coffee County.  Authorities with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency report that 21-year-old Ashton Matney had gone to the lake to scout for turkey.  He told his fiancé around 7 that he was returning to the boat ramp, however authorities received a call around 11:30 of an unoccupied boat adrift on the lake.  Later, they […]
