Every member of the Town of Cornersville Fire Department, including Fire Chief Matt Fox, has resigned, according to WKRN News 2. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department is reminding residents that it is against the law to burn leaves inside the city limits.  Leaf smoke can cause issues for those with chronic health conditions and also causes a public nuisance.  Residents are asked to bag leaves and leave them at the roadway for collection by the city Sanitation Department.

Teens who climbed atop a rooftop during a First Friday event in Florence Friday evening had to be rescued by way of a ladder truck.  Although the three teens were able to climb to the top of the building, they could find no way to safely climb back down.  Florence Fire and Rescue intervened, and the teens were returned to ground level without injury.

A tip through the Internet Crimes Against Children tip line in Huntsville resulted in a recent arrest.  Authorities report that 23-year-old Ty’Quavian Quentez Daniel of Huntsville, contacted a 16-year-old from Humble, Texas on Instragram, where he solicited explicit images, then attempted to extort the victim, threatening to expose the photos unless more were sent.  Daniel was arrested on charges of sexual extortion and electronic solicitation of a child.  The case […]

Maury County Firefighters were called to the scene of a car crash that left a car teetering on the edge of a steep embankment on Theta Pike Monday.  They arrived to find the car was being held in place by a small tree.  Crews were able to use a winch to secure the car while the occupant was evacuated.  The victim was transported for medical attention for non-life-threatening injuries.

Lawrenceburg Utility Systems has continued efforts to ensure that water moving through the system is safe, as it has been affected by the draining of the lake at Crockett Park into Shoal Creek.
