Escaped Juveniles Recaptured in Waynesboro

Waynesboro Police Department issued a public alert Wednesday regarding three runaway juvenile detainees in the area who were last seen in the woods between Clifton Turnpike and Andrew Jackson Drive.  Residents were advised to secure their doors and vehicles.  After a short time they announced a resolution to the situation, indicating that all three runaways had been apprehended and were back in custody.

Maryland Man Charged In Limestone Child Exploitation Case

Fire Officials Urge Caution When Burning

Ethridge firefighters are warning the public to exercise caution when burning, due to recent dry and windy weather conditions. Firefighters responded to a field fire that involved a vehicle on Thursday.  They remind the public that something as simple as a vehicle exhaust can quickly ignite dry grass and start a field fire.  They urge residents to be mindful when parking or driving in grassy areas.

Water Repairs Underway at State Park

Officials with David Crockett State Park are reminding residents that a water break has resulted in many of the park’s facilities being shut down.  The park remains open to visitors, however there is no water available.  The restaurant, front office, campgrounds and cabins are closed until repairs are completed.  Porta-Johns are available throughout the park.  Repairs are underway and water service is expected to be restored by Monday.
