Shirley Ann Smith

Shirley Ann Smith, age 89, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Wednesday, September 30th, 2026 at her home in Lawrenceburg. Shirley was born on April 22nd, 1937 to the late William Luther Gordon and Mary Bertha Turnbo Gordon in Clifton, TN. Shirley worked for 20 years at Kay Windsor and then for 7 years at Dura before retiring in the late 1990’s. In her spare time, she enjoyed making floral arrangements, gardening, listening to gospel music, and spending time with her loving family and friends. She was of Pentecostal Faith. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Smith; daughter, Flecia Brassfield; grandson, Keith Brassfield; sisters, Willie M. Ray, Grace Roberts, and Nadine Pulley.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Delecia Martin (Albert) and Rodney Brassfield (Denice); great grandchildren, Selenia Flood (Adam), Jasmine Brassfield, Rodney Brassfield Jr. (Mackenzie), Kellie Hubbard, Lee Hubbard, Samuel Hubbard, and Rylan Brassfield; great great grandchildren also survive; son-in-law, Ottis Brassfield, and several distant family members and special friends. 

Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10th, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

The funeral service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10th, 2026  beginning at 3:00 p.m. Pastor James Mitchell will be officiating. 

Interment will be held at Deerfield cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
