Colbert Heights Teacher Removed as Baseball Coach Following Arrest

According to media reports, the Colbert County School Board has removed a Colbert Heights Middle School teacher from his coaching position following his arrest on charges involving a student.

Eli Fuller, a science teacher and varsity head baseball coach at Colbert Heights, was arrested Monday and is facing multiple charges related to the alleged sexual abuse and electronic solicitation of a child. Authorities said the investigation began after information was received from a parent concerning Fuller’s alleged contact with a female student.

During a special meeting, the school board terminated Fuller from his position as varsity head baseball coach and approved action toward removing him as a teacher.

Fuller remains on administrative leave while the school system goes through the process of canceling his teaching contract.

Taylor Leathers is serving as acting superintendent in the matter because Superintendent Nathan Fuller is related to Eli Fuller.
