Colbert County Deputy Injured After Patrol Vehicle Struck on Highway 20

According to media reports, a Colbert County deputy was injured early Thursday morning when another vehicle struck his patrol vehicle on Highway 20.

The deputy was assisting with a traffic accident around 5:00 AM when officials said another vehicle approached and struck the rear of the patrol vehicle.

The deputy was taken to Helen Keller Hospital for treatment and was released shortly after noon Thursday.

Officials said the driver who struck the patrol vehicle was issued a traffic citation for failing to move over and for the resulting damage.
