Lawrence County Firefighters Receive Propane Emergency Training

Members of several Lawrence County Fire & Rescue stations and the Loretto Fire Department recently participated in a propane emergencies training class hosted by Thompson Gas Company.
The training was held at the Thompson Gas facility in Loretto and provided firefighters with hands-on instruction involving safety devices and emergency shutoff features on propane transport vehicles, bulk facilities and residential propane storage tanks.
Thompson Gas staff also reviewed the company’s emergency action plans for propane-related incidents and provided firefighters with updated emergency contact information for local company leadership.
Lawrence County Fire & Rescue thanked Thompson Gas for hosting the annual training and for assisting emergency personnel during previous propane-related incidents, including responding after hours when other responsible parties or vendors could not be reached.
