According to media reports, Nashville International Airport will be renamed Dolly Parton International Airport in honor of the late Tennessee music legend.
The airport’s three-letter BNA code will remain unchanged as a way to continue honoring Colonel Harry S. Berry, who helped develop the airport during the 1930s.
The renaming is expected to cost between $8 million and $10 million and will require changes to airport signage and administrative paperwork.
The process is expected to take approximately six months to a year to complete.
