Kurt Alan Doerflinger

Kurt Alan Doerflinger, age 67, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN and formerly of Ashtabula, OH, former owner of Persily Insurance, master designer (md) at Fleur–de–lis, owner at Allied Sales and Weddings Unlimited, a chef, and a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church. After retirement, Mr. Doerflinger ran many bed and breakfasts along the East Coast. He was also an actor, director, producer, and set coordinator for many theater productions. His favorite role was that of Christmas Present in Charles Dickens‘ A Christmas Carol, a role that he acted in for several years. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Virginia Peacock Doerflinger; one daughter, Kristin K. Hamilton; one grandson, Johnny Hamilton; one great–grandson, Chance Weaver; and four brothers, Fred Doerflinger, Erich Doerflinger, George Hedrick, and Frank Doerflinger. 

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen L. “Kathy” Pankowski Doerflinger, formerly of Ashtabula, OH, current resident of Lawrenceburg, TN; one son, Albert “Joe” Bruce of Lawrenceburg, TN; five grandchildren, Kari Weaver, Jodi Gibson, Michael Hamilton, Bryan Hamilton, and Joey S. Bruce; six great–grandchildren, Rylie, Robert, Ryder, Johnny, Kristin, and Laramie; one brother, Karl Doerflinger of Providence, RI; sister–in–law, Kathy S. Doerflinger; six nieces; three nephews; several great–nieces; great–nephews; great–great–nieces; great–great–nephews; and his furbabies. 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Friday, September 4, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, September 4, 2026, with Father Andrew Forsythe officiating.
