West End Family Displaced Following Residential Fire

A Lawrence County family was displaced following a residential structure fire Wednesday morning in the West End Fire District.
Lawrence County Fire & Rescue units were dispatched to the fire around 11:42 a.m., with the first unit arriving within five minutes to find a mobile home with smoke and flames visible from windows and the roofline on one side of the residence.
Firefighters initiated an interior attack and were able to quickly extinguish the fire before it spread beyond the area of origin.
The home sustained extensive smoke and heat damage, but no injuries were reported.
Fire officials said the home was equipped with working smoke alarms that alerted the occupants to the fire.
The homeowner has served as a volunteer at the West End Fire Station for some time.
Lawrence County Fire & Rescue is asking the community to keep the displaced family in their thoughts and prayers.
