Colbert County Jail Nurse Killed in Barton Crash

The crash occurred around 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Highway 72 and Barton Road, where Mizell’s vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler.
Colbert County Sheriff Eric Balentine said Mizell worked for a contractor that provides health care to inmates at the jail.
Balentine described Mizell as a kind and caring person and said her death has deeply affected both Sheriff’s Office employees and inmates at the jail.
