Columbia Police Execute 21 Search Warrants in Illegal Gambling Investigation

The Columbia Police Department, working with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, is conducting a large-scale investigation targeting businesses and individuals allegedly involved in illegal gambling in Columbia.

As part of the investigation, authorities are executing 21 search warrants at locations throughout the city Tuesday, with much of the increased law enforcement presence expected at multiple convenience stores.

Columbia Police described the investigation as lengthy and said additional details are not being released while the search warrants are being carried out.

Police expect to issue a full news release or hold a press conference Wednesday morning with more information about the investigation and the results of the searches.
