Two Injured in Knife-Related Altercation in Florence

Two men were injured Sunday morning following a physical altercation in Florence, according to the Florence Police Department.

Officers responded around 11:23 a.m. to several reports of two injured men seeking help from neighbors near the 100 block of East Bailey Springs Drive.

Police said both men had lacerations. Florence Police officers, Florence Fire personnel and Lifeguard Ambulance Service provided medical assistance at the scene.

One man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, while the other was flown by air ambulance to another hospital.

The initial investigation indicates the two men became involved in a physical altercation, during which one of the men cut the other with a knife.

No arrests had been made as of the department’s announcement, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Florence Police said the incident was isolated and there was no threat to the community.
