Pit Bull Reported Stolen from West Point Residence

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the reported theft of a dog from a residence on Spring Creek Road in West Point.

According to an incident report, a deputy responded to the residence shortly after 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22. The owner reported that her blue and white pit bull, weighing approximately 100 pounds, had been stolen.

The owner told authorities the dog had been missing since Wednesday, August 19. She said the dog normally goes near the roadway before returning to the residence within a few hours. When the dog failed to return, she and her husband searched along the road but were unable to locate it.

The owner told authorities she believes the dog was stolen and wanted the incident documented. The dog was valued at approximately $200.

The report lists one unknown offender, and no arrest had been made at the time the report was completed.
