James (Jim) E. Sutton Jr.

James (Jim) E. Sutton Jr. age, 91, of East Peoria, IL passed away at home on Thursday, August 20, 2026. 

He was born on September 12, 1934, in Leoma, TN to James Elmore Sutton and Jane Esther Durrett Sutton. He married Norma Jean Watson on October 9, 1954, in Corinth, MS. Jim worked as a construction laborer, and then he worked for Becker Bros as a truck driver, retiring in 1994. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union. Jim took pleasure in hunting, fishing, and watching sports. Also, Jim loved tomatoes when they were in season. Most of all, he relished his time at family gatherings. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; Infant son; Sister Maragret Sutton; 2 grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter.

Graveside services will be 1pm on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Fall River Cemetery.

Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years Norma Watson; children Diane (Thunder) Hornsby of Creve’s Coeur, IL, Mike (Mary) Sutton of East Peoria, IL, Donna (Bill). Willett of Germantown Hills, IL, Gary (Debbie) Sutton of East Peoria, IL, Jay (Lynn) of East Peoria, IL; Sister Valeria Newton of Peoria, IL; Brother J.C Sutton of Leoma, TN. Seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and four nieces and nephews also survive.
