Ethridge Leaders Establish Grass Ordinance

City of Ethridge officials have approved guidelines for maintenance of grass and other vegetation on properties situated inside the city. Commissioners gave final approval to the resolution during their August 17 meeting. The ordinance requires that residents maintain grass and weeds, butting and trimming to ensure that the height does not exceed 8 inches. It also prohibits residents from raking cuttings and debris into ditches or drainage-ways where it might obstruct vision or disrupt the natural flow or drainage of water. The resolution establishes guidelines for violations, including written notices and citations.
