Iron City Man Killed in Lawrence County, Alabama Crash

According to media reports, an Iron City man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Lawrence County, Alabama.

The crash occurred around 5:40 a.m. on Alabama Highway 20 near the 56-mile marker, less than one mile west of Hillsboro.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 23-year-old William T. Keeton of Iron City was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion when it struck the rear of a 2018 Freightliner garbage truck driven by 64-year-old Donald R. Gibson of Courtland.

Keeton was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

No additional information was immediately available regarding Gibson’s condition.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the crash.
