Lawrence County Firefighters Battle Early-Morning Structure Fire

Firefighters were dispatched around 2:11 a.m. after homeowners awoke to find their detached garage heavily involved in fire. The garage was approximately 10 feet from the residence, and the fire was threatening the home.

Arriving firefighters found the garage fully involved, with the fire already extending to the residence. The occupants had safely evacuated before firefighters arrived.

Crews immediately began suppression efforts on the residence and were able to quickly stop the fire from spreading further before extinguishing the garage fire.

Officials said the coordinated response prevented the residents from being displaced from their home. No injuries were reported.

Units from Crossroads, Center Point and Leoma responded to the fire.
