Carol Bates Edmondson

Carol Bates Edmondson, age 83, of Ethridge, TN passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, at NHC Healthcare Scott in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, a retired secretary at Sharp Transport, Inc., and a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. Ms. Edmondson enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time with family, serving the Lord, and participating in numerous church activities. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wayne Edmondson; her parents, James G. and Velma Tidwell Bates; and one brother, Doug Bates. 

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Harding–Rowe (Tim) of Mount Pleasant, TN; one son, Ronald Harding of Lascassas, TN; two step–daughters, Theresa Worrell (Douglas) of Prescott, AZ and Vicki Chester of Valley Village, CA; one step–son, Robert Edmondson (Audra) of Prescott, AZ; one sister, Barbara Galloway (Sam) of Cookeville, TN; one sister–in–law, Debbie Bates of Cookeville, TN; 17 grandchildren; 24 great–grandchildren; several nieces; and nephews. 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2026, with Todd Ozment and Sam Galloway officiating. Interment will follow at John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
