Lawrence County EMS has announced that the Lawrence County Commission has approved a transition to a 24/72 work schedule for EMS personnel.
According to the department, the new schedule is the latest in a series of investments in the county’s emergency medical services, following the addition of a fifth EMS unit and continued investments in equipment and medical protocols.
Lawrence County EMS said the new schedule will provide responders with more time to rest and spend with their families, helping reduce burnout while improving recruitment and retention. The department said those benefits will ultimately enhance the quality of emergency medical care provided to residents and visitors.
In a statement, Lawrence County EMS thanked the County Commission, County Executive, Budget Department, and others involved for supporting the change and for their continued commitment to strengthening emergency medical services in Lawrence County.
