With students returning to school next week, the City of Lawrenceburg is reminding motorists that Springer Road remains closed between 7th Street and Weakley Creek Road as work continues on the second phase of the Springer Road improvement project.
City officials are encouraging drivers to allow extra travel time and plan alternate routes as school traffic increases.
The city noted that 7th Street, Douglas Avenue, and Toben Terrace remain open, allowing traffic to cross Springer Road. Motorists are asked not to drive through the closed section of the roadway and to follow all posted detours and traffic control signs.
Drivers should also expect heavier-than-normal traffic on surrounding streets, particularly during morning and afternoon school travel times, and are urged to use caution around construction crews working in the area.
The closure will remain in place until construction is complete. City officials said the project’s completion timeline will depend on weather and other construction-related conditions.
