Curtis Guy PeteMoore, Jr., age 85, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Friday, July 24, 2026, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was born May 26, 1941, in Lawrenceburg to the late Curtis Guy Moore and Dovie Reed Moore

He proudly served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. Being fond of cars and driving, he naturally gravitated to the automobile industry as a career choice. He served as service manager in several automobile dealerships in Lawrence and surrounding counties and retired in 2005 from Sloan Ford in Columbia

An avid fisherman and hunter, he instilled in his sons an appreciation of the outdoors. He was a member of B.A.S.S. and the NRA. He was a NASCAR and NHRA racing enthusiast and also enjoyed watching most all sports

He was a member of Gandy Church of Christ coming to know the Lord late in life, but he loved and appreciated his church family

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlene Riggins Moore; and infant sister, Imogene Moore

Everyone who knew him appreciated his endearing sense of humor

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Janice Bishop Moore of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sons, Guy Moore and his wife, Melinda of Loretto, TN and Keith Moore and his wife, Mechelle of Loretto, TN; three grandsons, Hunter Moore of Loretto, TN, Derrick Gowen and his wife, LaShae of Leoma, TN, and Matthew Gowen and his wife, Lindsay of Leoma, TN; five greatgrandchildren, Remington, Killian, Wesson, Delaney, and Kimber; and one cousin, Bruce Casteel of Alamo, TX who was loved like a brother. Those serving as pallbearers are Johnny Farr, Dennis Tipper, Hunter Moore, Bronson King, John Burnett, and Braden Neal

The family wishes to thank Southern Tennessee Regional Health System, NHC Healthcare, Maury Regional Medical Center, the doctors and staff of the Cancer Center in Columbia, Dr. Amit Choksi and Leslie Bedford, who went above and beyond

 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 26, 2026, with Larry Murdock officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. Condolences may be sent by way of our website at www.nealfuneralhome.net.
