The Lawrenceburg City Council voted Thursday to approve the lowest of six bids submitted for Phase 2 of the Springer Road project.
The project would extend Springer Road beyond Mattoxtown Road, continue behind Walmart, and connect with Good Hope Road.
Doss Brothers was awarded the project with a bid of $2,852,963.15.
The other bids submitted were:
Nickell Contracting — $3,062,588.90
ABS Construction — $3,702,258.36
Jones Bros — $3,776,614.35
Capitol City Construction — $4,038,401.93
Cleary Construction — $4,087,900.92
The City Council also reappointed Justin Holt, Wesley Rochester, and John Ferguson to the Lawrenceburg Planning Commission.
Questions remain regarding the project because the City of Lawrenceburg reportedly does not currently own all of the property needed for the proposed roadway. In addition, no road has yet been constructed on portions of the planned route.
