Lawrence County Historical Society to Meet July 23

The Lawrence County Historical Society will meet on Thursday, July 23, at 6:30 PM at the Southern Tennessee Higher Education Center.

Dr. Timothy Johnson will present a program and sign copies of his new book, Robert Neyland: The West Point Engineer Who Built Tennessee Football. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Neyland’s first season as head football coach at the University of Tennessee. The book explores General Neyland’s career as both a military officer and legendary football coach, offering insight into his time at West Point, his service during both World Wars, and his lasting impact on Tennessee football.

Members are encouraged to attend, and guests are welcome.
