UPDATE: The property owner’s daughter-in-law tells WLX the horse has returned to the property.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the reported theft of a horse from a property on Tripp Road.
According to the incident report, deputies were dispatched to 360 Tripp Road on July 14 after the owner reported the horse missing.
The owner told deputies she left her residence on Friday morning and the horse was still on the property. When she returned home Sunday evening, the horse was gone.
The missing horse is described as an approximately 14-hand black and white mare with what appears to be a white star on its neck. The horse is valued at approximately $4,000.
The case was being investigated as a theft by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office.
