The City of Lawrenceburg Planning & Development Department has implemented a new process for building plan reviews, permitting, and inspections through a partnership with Municipal Inspection Partners (MIP).
Under the new system, all commercial, industrial, residential, accessory structure, fire protection, and life safety building plans must now be submitted through Municipal Inspection Partners for review.
After plans have been approved, applicants must apply for building permits through the City of Lawrenceburg GovWell Portal. Inspection requests for permitted projects will be scheduled through Municipal Inspection Partners, with inspections conducted on Mondays and Wednesdays.
The city said Planning Commission applications, including site plans, plats, rezonings, variances, and other development applications, will continue to be submitted through the GovWell Portal. Applicants are also reminded to follow the city’s Planning Commission submittal calendar for application deadlines and meeting dates.
City officials said the updated process is intended to improve efficiency, streamline reviews, and provide a more user-friendly experience for contractors, developers, and property owners.
For additional information or assistance with the new process, contact the City of Lawrenceburg Planning & Development Department at 931-629-6856 or by email at akrick@lawrenceburgtn.gov.
