VFW Passing Patriotism to Young Residents

In honor of America’s 250^th birthday, members of David Crockett VFW Post 1618 recently held a Passing Patriotism event, teaching area children about the Pledge of Allegiance and what it truly means.  They were taught how to properly recite the Pledge, the meaning behind the stars, stripes and colors of the flag, as well as the values they represent.  Children who were able to successfully recite the Pledge of Allegiance were presented a Certificate of Achievement and their very own American flag.
