The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for all of Middle Tennessee from Thursday afternoon (7/9) through Sunday evening (7/12).
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible during this period. An additional 3 to 4 inches of rain is expected through the weekend, with soils already saturated from recent rainfall.
Excessive runoff could lead to flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone areas. Flooding is also possible in locations with poor drainage and in urban areas.
Residents should continue to monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action if Flood Warnings are issued for their area. Stay tuned to WLX Radio and the National Weather Service for the latest updates.
