Storms Bring Down Trees Across Lawrence County

Lawrence County Fire Rescue responded to numerous storm-related incidents Wednesday evening after strong storms moved through the area.

According to the department, Lawrence County E-911 began receiving reports of storm damage at approximately 6:00 p.m. Firefighters were dispatched to a variety of calls, including a tree falling onto an occupied home, a propane tank damaged by a fallen tree, several reports of trees on power lines, and numerous trees blocking roadways throughout the county.

Lawrence County Fire Rescue thanked the Lawrence County Highway Department and Lawrenceburg Utility Systems for their assistance during the response. The Highway Department quickly deployed personnel and heavy equipment to clear roadways, allowing emergency vehicles and normal traffic to safely access affected areas.
