Lawrence County EMS Reports Higher Call Volume in June

Lawrence County EMS responded to 646 requests for service during June, according to the agency’s monthly service report.

EMS crews transported 440 patients during the month. Of those, 277 were taken to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg. Crews also completed 67 transports or transfers to Maury Regional Medical Center, 10 to North Alabama Medical Center, 3 to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Pulaski, and 40 to other county hospitals.

The report also shows 135 calls resulted in a refusal of care or no care being required, while 57 calls were canceled or no patient was found.

Lawrence County EMS said June’s call volume was nearly 70 calls higher than June 2025 and slightly higher than May 2026.

During the month, personnel completed continuing education on intraosseous access and the treatment of entrapped patients, as well as the Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Resuscitation, and Stabilization (PEARS) course.

Community outreach activities included first aid and CPR checkoffs for the public, participation in a community outreach event at Rotary Park, and the start of the Summer 2026 Emergency Medical Responder program. Students in the program will complete more than 75 hours of training before becoming eligible to take the National Registry examination for Emergency Medical Responder certification.

The agency also placed its new Unit 205 ambulance into service during June, replacing one of the department’s aging ambulances assigned to Station 1 in Lawrenceburg.
