A man was arrested Wednesday afternoon following a public intoxication incident in Leoma.
According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies were dispatched around 1:19 PM to 2422 Highway 43 South regarding a possibly intoxicated individual.
Deputy Michael Scott reported finding Owen Alexander Louis Woodard lying motionless beside a dumpster in a common area near Highway 43 South. The report states Woodard was awakened but appeared unstable on his feet, prompting the deputy to request EMS.
According to the report, Woodard was transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System for a medical evaluation. Authorities said Woodard told emergency responders and medical personnel that he had ingested methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, and kratom within the previous few hours.
After Woodard was medically cleared, he was taken into custody and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
Woodard was charged with public intoxication.
