Killen Officials Warn Styrofoam is Not a Recyclable

Officials with the Town of Killen, Alabama, are reminding residents that Styrofoam is not recyclable and should never be placed in recycling bins.  An increase has been seen lately of large amounts of Styrofoam and other non-recyclable materials being disposed of at recycling sites.  Disposing of non-recyclable materials in recycle bins means that employees must spend additional time sorting through and removing these items, increasing costs and diverting resources from other needs.  They ask that you place only recyclable materials in the city’s recycle bins.
