Firefighters Respond to Two Leoma Incidents Within Minutes

Lawrence County Fire & Rescue responded to two separate emergencies within minutes of each other Thursday evening in the Leoma Fire District.

Shortly before 6:00 PM, firefighters were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire. Due to the location near the Loretto city limits, an engine from the Loretto Fire Department was requested to assist under a mutual aid agreement. Crews quickly extinguished the fire, and no injuries were reported.

Approximately two minutes later, firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with reported injuries, also in the Leoma Fire District. Units from the Leoma and Center Point stations responded, while a unit from the Crossroads station provided coverage for any additional emergencies during the response.

Lawrence County Fire & Rescue said it is thankful for its automatic aid and mutual aid partners, noting the importance of those relationships when handling simultaneous incidents.
