An escaped inmate who prompted a large law enforcement search in the Iron City area Wednesday evening is now in custody.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff John Myers, Blaine Allen Trousdale turned himself in to deputies with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office Thursday night.
Trousdale became the focus of a multi-agency search effort after Lawrence County authorities attempted to take him into custody Wednesday afternoon. According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Trousdale fled on foot before officers could gain physical control of him.
The search involved personnel from the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Lawrence County Emergency Management Agency, Loretto Police Department, and Lauderdale County authorities.
Trousdale had been wanted on warrants charging him with Evading Arrest and Burglary. He was also being investigated as a person of interest in a stabbing incident reported last week.
