Preston Sproles

Preston Sproles, age 68, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN after battling a long illness. 

Preston was born on August 21, 1957. Although he was a resident of Lawrenceburg for over 30 years, he was a native of Toledo, Ohio where he grew up and attended Toledo Public Schools He moved to Cincinnati in the early 90’s and worked in food service manufacturing. Preston was a quiet but friendly person with a funny sense of humor. He liked cooking and eating a good meal, having good conversations and watching old TV shows like Twilight Zone and Outer Limits. He also loved working on cars and played the Bass guitar. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Sproles; his mother Doris Shaw Ramsey; brothers, Clifton Austin and John McQuiller; and one sister, Jurleon Mcquiller Neal. Also preceded in death by son Christopher and daughter Victoria. 

He is survived by his former spouse, Jennifer Sproles who was his caregiver for 17 years and his son Preston Sproles, Jr. of Mansfield, Ohio. Also survived by sister, Caroline Sproles Robb (Derek) of Cincinnati, Ohio, four brothers, Yolando Ramsey and Sumler Ramsey of Toledo, Garfield Ramsey of La Punta, California and Ron Shaw of Tucson Arizona Other surviving family include brothers Tommy Sproles (Henrietta) Arkansas, Shawn Sproles (Erica) Illinois, Joseph Sproles (Joyce) Indiana and Timothy Sproles Illinois and other sisters Landau Hawkins and Sheila Hawkins, Illinois. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, friends and family too numerous to mention individually. He will be missed. 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. A graveside interment service for Preston Sproles will be held at Noon on Friday, June 26, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. Condolences may be sent by way of their website at www.nealfuneralhome.net
