Authorities Continue Search for Escaped Convict Last Seen in Iron City

Law enforcement agencies continued searching Thursday for an escaped convict who was last seen in the Iron City area.

According to information released Wednesday evening, authorities were attempting to locate Blaine Trousdale, described as a white male in his 20s to early 30s with dark hair.

Lawrence County Emergency Management Agency Director Shelton Barnett later clarified that Trousdale did not escape from a facility in Lawrence County. According to Barnett, the inmate escaped in Lauderdale County, Alabama, and subsequently fled into the Iron City area.

Residents were urged to remain alert and to immediately call 911 if they saw Trousdale or had information regarding his whereabouts.

As of news time Thursday, no additional information regarding Trousdale’s whereabouts had been released.
