Lawrence County Sheriff’s Debate Scheduled for June 16

Candidates for Lawrence County Sheriff will participate in a public debate on Tuesday, June 16, at the WLX Country Cafe beginning at 6:00 PM.

Independent candidates Chris Hannah and Gary Mills will join incumbent Sheriff John Myers, who is seeking re-election as the Republican nominee.

Questions will be asked by Brandon Taylor and Lawrence Sutton of the Lawrence County Republican Party.

An audience will be permitted to attend; however, organizers say loud or unwelcoming behavior will not be tolerated.

The debate will be broadcast live on Facebook and WDXE Radio on 95.3 FM and 105.3 FM, giving voters an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates ahead of the August election.

A Lawrence County Executive debate is also scheduled later that evening.
