Giles County Man Charged Following Child Sexual Abuse Investigation

A Giles County man has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of child sexual abuse.

According to the Giles County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report on June 4 involving allegations of child sexual abuse. The case was immediately assigned to investigators.

As a result of the investigation, Jason Bevels was arrested on the afternoon of June 5 and charged with two counts of Aggravated Rape of a Child.

The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with additional information related to the case is encouraged to contact the Giles County Sheriff’s Office at 931-363-3505.

The department also thanked Kid’s Place Child Advocacy Center and the Department of Children’s Services for their assistance during the investigation.

The Giles County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that protecting children remains a top priority and encouraged anyone who is a victim of abuse or who has information about criminal activity to contact law enforcement.

As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
