One person was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on crash on Red Hill-Center Road in Lawrence County.
According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 9:01 AM on State Highway 241, also known as Red Hill-Center Road.
Troopers say a concrete truck driven by 31-year-old Jacob Chapman of Tennessee was traveling north when a Dodge Charger driven by 36-year-old Stephen Rivers of Tennessee was traveling south. Investigators report Rivers was attempting to pass two uninvolved dump trucks in a no-passing zone when the Charger crossed into the northbound lane and struck the concrete truck head-on.
Chapman was not injured. Rivers suffered fatal injuries in the crash. No charges were listed in the preliminary report.
The crash remains under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
