LCHS Teacher Receives National SkillsUSA Honor

Lawrence County High School Engineering, Technology and Computer Science Instructor Samantha Childress has been recognized with the SkillsUSA Honorary Life Membership Award.

According to Lawrence County Schools, Childress has dedicated 21 years to Career and Technical Education and SkillsUSA, helping students develop leadership skills while preparing for careers in technical fields.

School officials said her students have earned recognition at both the state and national levels, and that her service has extended beyond the classroom through involvement with SkillsUSA at the local, state, and national levels.

Lawrence County Schools praised Childress for her leadership, mentorship, and commitment to student success, calling the award a reflection of her impact on students and career and technical education programs.
