Lawrence County EMS Releases May Service Report

Lawrence County EMS responded to 639 requests for service during May 2026, according to the department’s monthly service report.

The agency transported 435 patients during the month, including 262 transports to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Lawrenceburg, 73 transports or transfers to Maury Regional Medical Center, 13 to North Alabama Medical Center, and nine to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski.

EMS crews also completed 34 transports to hospitals in other counties.

The report shows there were 128 calls in which patients refused care or no care was required, 21 fire standby, law enforcement assistance, or mutual aid responses, and 63 canceled calls or incidents in which no patient was found.

According to the report, call volume in May was slightly higher than in April but remained steady compared to May 2025.

During the month, EMS personnel completed continuing education on code management, hip injuries, and trauma care. Community outreach efforts included participation in the Lawrence County Schools Senior Career Fair, AED training for Loretto senior citizens, and CPR and bleeding control training for staff at David Crockett State Park.

The report also recognized Loretto High School and Summertown High School students who completed a semester-long Emergency Medical Responder course designed to introduce students to healthcare and emergency services.
