Joe Newton

Joe Newton, age 88, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg, TN. He was a native of Giles County, TN, a cattle farmer, and former employee of Dye’s Lime and Fertilize. Joe retired from the Lawrence County Highway Department and was a member of Brace Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lewis and Fannie Ward Newton; three brothers, Bobby Newton, Robert Newton, and Charles Newton; and one sister, Lirlie Mae Tarpley. 

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Faye King Newton of Lawrenceburg, TN; one son, Larry Newton (Sandy) of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Connie Newton of Lawrenceburg, TN; one brother, Harold Dean Newton of Giles County, TN; two grandchildren, Brandi Roberts (Brandon) of Leoma, TN and Brady Newton (Bridgette) of Lawrenceburg, TN; and two great–grandchildren, Breece Roberts and Brayton Roberts. 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 28, 2026, with Jeff Overton officiating.
