Visitors Asked Not to Disturb Ecosystems at Saint Joseph Park

After a park visitor pulled plants from the stream in Saint Joseph City Park, city officials are asking the public to refrain from disturbing the various ecosystems.  A large amount of water cress was pulled from the small stream and discarded on the creek bank.  The naturally occurring aquatic plant plays an important role in the stream’s ecosystem.  Officials ask that visitors not remove, destroy or disturb vegetation or wildlife inside the park without prior authorization.
