According to WKSR, Historic Downtown Pulaski has approved 17 Downtown Improvement Grant projects totaling nearly $358,000 in building improvements and reinvestment throughout downtown Pulaski.

Construction and restoration work has already begun and is expected to continue throughout the year.

The Downtown Improvement Grant program helps property owners improve storefronts and historic buildings through projects including façade renovations, masonry repair, painting, windows, signage, awnings, and other exterior improvements. The program reimburses up to 75 percent of approved project costs.

Grant projects were approved for several businesses located on North and South First Street, North and South Second Street, and West Madison Street.

Officials are encouraging residents to continue supporting downtown businesses while the projects are underway. Additional grant rounds and future funding opportunities are expected to be announced later this year.
