According to media reports, three people have been charged with animal cruelty after nearly 200 dogs were removed from a Lauderdale County property earlier this year.

Authorities say Lauderdale County deputies and officials with the Florence/Lauderdale Animal Shelter seized 191 dogs on March 30 from a home in the 3000 block of County Road 112.

Media reports indicate the dogs were transported to the Colbert County Animal Shelter and the Florence/Lauderdale Animal Shelter where they were examined by veterinarians.

Karolyn Richardson, John Richardson, and Hunter Hancock were each charged with four counts of cruelty to animals.

Officials say all three have since been released on $2,000 bond.
