Scam Targets Medicare Recipients

Lawrence County Senior Citizens Center is passing along a scam alert from Senior Medicare Patrol.  People have been receiving fake Medicare cards in the mail with instructions on how to “activate it.”  They point out that this is a scam, as the cards are plastic and legitimate Medicare cards are not plastic.  They urge residents not to attempt to activate the card or access any links.
