William Louis “Jackie” Butler

William Louis “Jackie” Butler, 85, of Florence, passed away May 7, 2026, at his residence.  He was a pipefitter, a member of Local #760 and a member of Atlas Church of Christ.

Survivors include:

Son:  Lynne Butler

Daughters:  Bridget Butler & Michelle Butler

Brother-in-law:  Ted Short

Grandsons:  Kasey Butler & Kody Butler(Anna)

Granddaughter:  Destiny Butler

Great grandson:  Waylon Butler

Great granddaughter:  Callie Jo Butler

Several nieces and nephews – all who were special to him

Preceded in death by:

Wife:  Sarah Butler

Parents:  William George Butler & Georgia Mae Brewer Butler

Brother:  David Butler

Sister:  Beverly Short

Brothers-in-law:  Gene Cooper, Jimmy Smith & Bill Mitchell

Sisters-in-law:  Margaret Mitchell & Shirley Cooper

Visitation will be Monday, May 11, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:30pm, at Shiloh Church of Christ.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 11:00am, at Shiloh Church of Christ, with Bro. Miles Stutts officiating.  Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.  

Pallbearers will be:  Jimmy Phillips, Kevin Short, Stephen Phillips, Mike Desruisseaux, Chris Short & Kasey Butler.

Honorary pallbearer will be:  Waylon Butler.

The family would like to say a special thank you to:  our sister, Bridget (the golden child, lol), for caring for our daddy in a time he couldn’t care for himself; special niece, Cheryl, who jumped in like a daughter to care for Uncle Jackie; Florence Nursing & Rehab, and Southern Care New Beacon Hospice.
