Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office Reports 1,106 Calls in April

The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,106 calls for service during the month of April.

According to the department’s monthly report, those calls resulted in 186 arrests. Deputies also conducted 155 traffic stops and responded to 21 crashes.

Other activity included 272 civil processes, 29 funeral escorts, eight mental transports, and 34 domestic violence calls.

The report also shows 10 vandalism cases, 35 burglar alarms, 24 thefts, and 20 fraud cases.

Additional calls included 63 animal-related incidents, 31 suspicious person or activity calls, and 21 motorist assists.

Officials say there were seven suicide attempts or threats reported during the month.

The department reported no SWAT or taser deployments in April.
