State Representative Clay Doggett of Pulaski has secured $500,000 in state funding for a water infrastructure study in Giles County.
Officials say the funding will be used by the Giles County Water Alliance to evaluate options for an additional source of drinking water and to improve long-term system reliability.
The study will examine whether a new water source is needed and identify potential options if necessary.
The Giles County Water Alliance includes local water utilities, the Giles County Commission, and the mayors of Ardmore and Lynnville.
The funding is part of the state’s $58.3 billion balanced budget approved by lawmakers in April.
