Mary Elizabeth Widner Thomason

Mary Elizabeth Widner Thomason, age 86, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, at NHC Healthcare of Lawrenceburg in Lawrenceburg, TN. She was a native of Maryville, TN, retired hostess from The Restaurant at David Crockett, a member of the Republican Ladies Club, a volunteer at American Red Cross, and of the Church of Christ Faith. Ms. Thomason enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.W. and Carrie Ann Bolinger Widner; three brothers, Jack, Harold, and Ted Waddell; two sisters, Josie W. Atchley and Bea Widner; and one grandson, Shawn Thomason. 

She is survived by one daughter, Robin Fleming (Curtis) of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sons, Andrew Thomason (Deidre) of Millbrook, AL, and Mark Thomason (Kim) of Cookeville, TN; ten grandchildren; sixteen great- grandchildren; and three great–great–grandchildren. 

The family wishes to thank The Summit of Lawrenceburg, GoodWorks at Home, NHC Healthcare of Lawrenceburg, Compassus Hospice, and Palliative Care for the love and care shown to their mother. 

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. A graveside service and interment will be conducted at Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbia, TN at 2:30 PM Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
