Lawrence County EMS Reports 581 Calls in April

Lawrence County EMS responded to 581 service requests during the month of April.

According to the agency’s monthly report, 381 patients were transported, including 234 to Southern Tennessee Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg.

Additional transports included 63 to Maury Regional Medical Center and 12 to North Alabama Medical Center, along with others to facilities in surrounding counties.

Officials say there were 131 calls where care was refused or not required, along with 54 canceled calls or incidents where no patient was found.

EMS crews also assisted with fire standby, law enforcement, and mutual aid requests on 16 occasions.

Officials say call volume decreased slightly from March but remained consistent with April of last year.

The report also notes continued training and outreach efforts, including CPR instruction for the public and county employees, as well as completion of the Emergency Medical Responder program by local high school students.

A new ambulance has also arrived and is expected to be placed into service soon.
